What We Do

We are dedicated to uplifting and enriching the lives of Indigenous communities, with a specific focus on supporting charitable organizations aligned with our values. Our commitment also extends to assist Indigenous families and local communities during unexpected events. Through our grant funding initiatives, we aim to foster resilience and positive change, standing alongside Indigenous Peoples and like-minded organizations as dedicated partners in their journey towards a better future.

Consumer groups

The Local

Lives in Akwesasne, is older, with well-established buying patterns.

The Other Local

Lives in Akwesasne, generally younger, and purchases from multiple stores based on need. The consumer has the potential to switch based on their preferences for different products.

The Canadian

Crosses the border to buy in bulk to save money. They are coming for gas while shopping in Massena or to the reservation for tobacco. This customer is often retired with pricing and selection as the primary drivers for this consumer.

The Commuter

The US consumer that travels through the reservation or works in the general area and makes stops to buy gas and other products because they are cheaper on reservation. This group includes people working at correctional facilities or working at the reservation that do not live in Akwesasne.

The Destination Shopper

Drives from the surrounding area to buy tobacco in bulk because of the savings.  This consumer is often retired and has the time to make the drive to capture the savings.

The Casino Visitor

This consumer group was not identified in the research that was done, but we believe this consumer is different from those highlighted. They may be Canadian or a Commuter, but they see Akwesasne as a recreation location and will stop to buy tobacco or gas while they are here. They usually stay at the

Employees

There approximately 300 TMG employees that live or work regularly in the area. This customer receives a substantial discount on Bear’s Den products and should be a loyal consumer.
